Physics Department within Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Science Faculty had been founded on September 11, 1995 by the first Department Head Şener Oktik. The Master's Program in the Department of Physics within the Institute of Science had started In the 1996-1997 academic year. The first Undergraduate students started to be registered to the department in 1997-1998 academic year. Since 2006, students have been admitted to the Doctorate Program in the Physics Department at the Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Institute of Science.
